The announcement ceremony was attended by Mr. Simon Kreye, Deputy Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Vietnam; Mr. Ngo Chi Dung, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Tam Anh General Hospital System; Dr. Ngo Quy Chau, Deputy General Director of Tam Anh Hanoi General Hospital System and a large number of scientists, leading experts, and experienced doctors.

At the ceremony, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Xuan Hien, Director of the Center for Iodegistics and Interventional optics, Tam Anh General Hospital, Hanoi, said that in recent years, CT scanning technology has continuously made great strides, from 64 slices to 256, 512, 1975 slices and has now developed to a super machine generation with the ability to repeat more than 100,000 slices in one photo like CT Somatom Force VB30. The super machine converges all the leading technologies of the current imaging diagnosis industry, can serve in many areas of medical examination and treatment such as Neurology - Neck, Thoracic Surgery, Heart - Blood vessels, Abdominal, Musculoskeletal, kidney - Urinary, Orthopedic Trauma...
Somatom Force VB30 CT machines are scarce in the world, only available at a few leading medical centers in the US, Germany, the Netherlands... In Vietnam, Tam Anh General Hospital is the first and only unit to own and put into use. Owing a CT super may earlier than other countries in the region helps doctors promptly have more effective tools to improve the quality of disease screening and diagnosis, thereby retaining domestic patients, attracting foreign patients, contributing to promoting the development of medical tourism in Vietnam, Associate Professor Xuan Hien affirmed.

The Somatom Force VB30 CT has the fastest scanning speed in the world, taking whole body scanning in less than 2 seconds, dozens of times faster than regular CT machines and many times faster than the old multi-row CT machines. In addition, CT Somatom Force VB30 is also the CT system with the thinnest sliding thickness today, only 0.4mm.
This is also one of the most powerful high-end CT lines applying artificial intelligence (AI) today. ALPHA and Fast Phase technology is the most modern, helping to mark and analyze human body athletes, automatically recognizing athletes on the film; automatically adjusting and selecting the most clear and useful images to serve doctors' faster, more convenient and more accurate diagnosis.

According to statistics from the American Medical Physical Association, Somatom Force VB30 is one of the CT machine systems with the lowest X-ray dosage. Therefore, the machine is especially useful for children and patients who need regular CT scans such as post-herpetic joint replacement, spinal intervention, cancer treatment...
The practice of applying CT Somatom Force VB30 at Tam Anh General Hospital in Hanoi in recent times has shown outstanding effectiveness in disease screening and diagnosis. As in the case of patient Tran Van Kien, 3 days old, who went to Tam Anh General Hospital in Hanoi for examination with difficulty breathing due to bronchial urethritis. On a lung X-ray, the doctor determined that the child had afulusion of the pleural medium but there was not enough image data to find the cause.
The patient underwent a CT scan of the lungs using Somatom Force VB30 machine, with a radiation dose of only 0.14 mSv, equivalent to an X-ray. The results showed that the child had a micro-tshift of congenital gas, causing afulusion of the lung lining. These cases were previously limited to CT scans due to concerns that large doses of radiation could affect the child's development, making it difficult for doctors to find the cause.

Dr. Ngo Quy Chau, Deputy General Director of the Tam Anh General Hospital System, said that the CT Somatom Force VB30 super machine will be prioritized for use in diagnosis and screening for early detection of dangerous diseases that are challenges in medicine such as stroke, stroke, coronary artery disease, cardiovascular disease, cancer, brain tumors; diseases in the lungs, liver, spleen, urethra... "The hospital will apply reasonable costs to support many patients and customers to have the opportunity to enjoy the value of this top-notch technology", Prof. Chau informed.
The launch of the CT Somatom Force VB30 is part of a series of activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Germany (1975-2025). Mr. Simon Kreye, Deputy Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Vietnam, assessed that the event not only marked an important step forward in Vietnam's medical development but also demonstrated the strong cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Germany, especially in the fields of technology and health.

I believe that by pioneering the application of advanced diagnostic imaging technology from Germany, Tam Anh General Hospital will not only improve the health care standards of the unit but also bring the Vietnamese health system closer to international standards, said Mr. Kreye.
