On August 9, the Central Highlands General Hospital (Dak Lak province) informed that the unit had just issued a letter calling on people to participate in donating platelets to promptly help patients in critical condition.
In the letter of appeal, Mr. Nguyen Dang Giap - Director of the Central Highlands General Hospital - shared with the message "Every drop of blood given, a life remains", each person will be an ambassador of compassion, sharing their blood to help the sick. Thereby, patients have the opportunity to live or prolong their life.
Volunteers participating in platelet and blood donation can register at the Testing Department - Central Highlands General Hospital.
Previously, the Central Highlands General Hospital also launched a voluntary blood donation movement in 2025 among all union members and employees of the unit.
This activity aims to contribute to overcoming severe anemia in emergency care and treatment at the hospital.
Since the beginning of July, the Dak Lak Province Hematology and Blood Transfusion Center has only received about 30 - 40 units of blood/day. The anemia is becoming more serious due to insufficient blood intake to meet emergency and treatment needs.
The reason for this situation is that blood donation programs at the facility are being interrupted.
