Speaking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Lawyer Tran Dai Lam - ANVI Law Firm LLC said that the family of Ms. Dang Thi M (born in 1977, in Tran Yen Commune, Lao Cai Province) invited a Lawyer to advise and protect the family's legitimate rights and interests to clarify Ms. M's unusual death at Lao Cai General Hospital - facility 1.
On August 6, the family and the lawyer had a working session with the Hospital on requesting this unit to establish a professional council to clarify the process, cause and responsibility for the treatment leading to the death of Ms. Dang Thi M.
The establishment of the Professional Council aims to evaluate the process of receiving, diagnosing and treating; determine the cause of death and clarify whether or not there are technical errors in the medical team directly treating Ms. Dang Thi M.
According to Lawyer Tran Dai Lam, patient M's family suspected that there was a possibility of technical errors during the examination and treatment of the medical team.
The family suspected that during the hospital's admission, diagnosis and treatment process, there were many missing points and were unclear; information provided by the medical team was not complete and timely about health status as well as treatment regimen, leading to the failure to predict the course of the disease, leading to Ms. Dang Thi M's unusual death.

Also at the meeting, Ms. M's family requested Lao Cai General Hospital - facility 1 to provide the results of the forensic examination of Ms. Dang Thi M.
Representative of Lao Cai General Hospital - facility 1, Ms. Trinh Thi Thu Hoai - Deputy Director of the Hospital said that the forensic examination of the unit has not received results. The hospital also does not know when the results will be available.
Ms. Hoai added that the police investigation agency is currently handling the patient's file. Therefore, the establishment of a Professional Council is regulated and required by the Investigation Police Agency.
Regarding this issue, Lawyer Tran Dai Lam affirmed that according to Article 100 and Article 101 of the Law on Medical Examination and Treatment 2023, when a medical incident arises and is in dispute that needs to be resolved, the patient's representative has the right to request the medical examination and treatment facility to establish a professional council to determine whether there are or not technical errors in the practitioner's expertise.
As Lao Dong reported, at 5:00 p.m. on July 23, patient Dang Thi M, while being examined and treated at Lao Cai Provincial General Hospital - facility 1, waiting to be transferred to the upper-level hospital, suddenly became seriously ill, stopped circulating and died of unknown cause.
Previously, Ms. M had no history of illness. In mid-July, this patient had a headache, dizziness, numbness in the limbs, fatigue, prolonged insomnia, and mild difficulty breathing, so he went to the doctor.
Before going to Lao Cai General Hospital for examination and dying suddenly - facility 1, patient M was examined and hospitalized for 1 week at Tran Yen Regional Medical Center. At both medical facilities, the cause of the disease of patient Dang Thi M. was not found.
