At 9:15 p.m., the patient underwent an anesthesia of the spinal cord in the Anesthesia and Resuscitation Surgery Department; during the anesthesia of the patient's spinal cord, the emergency teams at the Department of Anesthesia and Resuscitation Surgery and the hospital-wide emergency team actively provided emergency care and resuscitation to the patient.
However, after more than 1 hour of emergency care, the patient died of anaphylactic shock.
According to the Bac Ninh Department of Health, anaphylactic shock is an unexpected medical complication. Studies around the world show that the rate of anaphylactic shock caused by drugs ranges from 10-50/100,000 doses, the mortality rate is about 1-2/100,000 doses.
After receiving information about the patient's death, leaders of the Department of Health and Bac Ninh General Hospital No. 1 met, explained, encouraged, visited, and shared with the patient's family.
At the same time, the Department of Health has directed the Hospital to establish a professional Council to conduct a death autopsy according to regulations.
In the coming time, the Department of Health will continue to direct Bac Ninh General Hospital No. 1 and No. 2 to organize training to further improve emergency capacity for the entire health sector.
