News from the Office of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province on November 1 said that the Provincial People's Committee has issued a decision on the number of hamlet medical staff in the province.
The decision of the Provincial People's Committee assigns the Director of the Department of Health to direct the Medical Centers of districts and cities of Ca Mau to select, manage and use hamlet health workers in accordance with current regulations. Ca Mau arranges 2 health workers/hamlet throughout the province.
Currently, 683 hamlets in Ca Mau province have medical staff. Of these, 491 hamlets have 2 medical staff, 192 hamlets have 1 medical staff; and 61 hamlets have no medical staff. The total number of active hamlet medical staff receiving monthly funding is 1,174.
This regulation of Ca Mau province is said to be implemented according to Decision No. 75/2009/QD-TTG dated May 11, 2009 of the Prime Minister: On regulations on allowance regime for medical staff in villages and hamlets.
The funding source for paying allowances for village and hamlet health workers is guaranteed by the central and local budgets. The central budget pays for communes in difficult areas according to Decision No. 30/2007/QD-TTg dated March 5, 2007 of the Prime Minister.
The local budget shall pay for the remaining communes. For localities with difficulties and unbalanced resources, the central budget shall support the payment of the allowance prescribed in this Decision, with an average of 01 medical staff per village.
The monthly allowance for village and hamlet health workers is 0.5 and 0.3 times the prescribed minimum wage: 0.5 applies to village and hamlet health workers in communes in difficult areas according to Decision No. 30/2007/QD-TTg dated March 5, 2007 of the Prime Minister promulgating the list of administrative units in difficult areas, 0.3 applies to village and hamlet health workers in the remaining communes.
