Ward 2 Health Station (Sa Dec City, Dong Thap Province) is located just a few steps away from Sa Dec General Hospital and Phuong Chau Private Hospital, but is not "overcharged". Since retiring, Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Anh (69 years old, Sa Dec City) has also started going to Ward 2 Health Station for medical examination. Ms. Ngoc Anh confided: "In addition to being happy and having a quick check-up, the doctor here is also dedicated and advises me to eat regularly and exercise".
At Ward 2 Health Center, drugs are fully planned, prioritizing drugs for high blood pressure, diabetes, cardiovascular disease... The doctors said that in professional work, if treatment is found unsuitable, the regimen will be flexibly changed so that patients can feel secure in treatment.
Dr. Phan Thi Tuong Vi (Ward 2 Health Station) said that she always gives the motto of serving patients like family members. "People with the disease are already uncomfortable, so I always talk about small things" - Dr. Vi said.
The leaders of Ward 2 Health Center explained that, seeing the geographical location as unfavorable, the team always tries their best in every step, most importantly, communicating with patients, and will dedicate themselves to explaining and instructing them to take medicine carefully.
If there is a professional problem, the station's leaders will proactively resolve it so that the patient can understand, then sit down with the staff to discuss and learn from experience. Thanks to that, the station is very united and synchronous in completing its tasks to achieve efficiency.
Investing in Family Doctor clinics
In Can Tho City, in February 2025, the health sector will continue to inaugurate 3 more Can Tho Family Doctor Clinics at Cai Rang District Medical Center, Dinh Mon Commune Health Center (Thoi Lai District) and Thoi Lai District Medical Center.
This investment effort is a positive sign following the success of the 3 BSGD Clinics that were put into use in 2024; helping to increase the total number of Can Tho BSGD Clinics to 6.
Mr. Truong Ty - Director of Cai Rang District Medical Center - said that currently, the disease model in Cai Rang District is a model of dual diseases, infectious diseases at a high level, while non-communicable diseases and injuries are increasing, leading to increasing demand for medical examination and treatment of the people.
"The development of family medicine clinics helps people access high-quality medical services right from the grassroots health care unit; improving the quality of medical examination and treatment; screening for diseases, reducing hospital overload at all levels, reducing costs for people" - Mr. Ty informed.
Before that, when we went to the Family Health Clinic at Thuong Thanh Ward Health Station (Cai Rang District), we were also surprised by the improvement of healthcare in the countryside. According to statistics, the number of patients coming for examination and treatment here has increased by an average of 10-15% compared to before.
