On April 25, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health said that from April 2025, the unit has officially deployed the creation of electronic health records for the city's residents.
Starting this roadmap, with the technical support of the City Digital Transformation Center, there are currently nearly 396,794 electronic health records for the elderly that have been updated and synchronously connected on the Ho Chi Minh City Digital Citizen application platform.
In the following period, this application will expand the integration of electronic health records of students.
Electronic health records are an important tool to help people track their entire health care process throughout their life, from birth to old age, from vaccination data, school check-ups, periodic check-ups to inpatient and outpatient treatment information.
Integrating on the Ho Chi Minh City Digital Citizen application will help people easily look up and monitor their personal and loved one's health status with just a mobile device.
The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health believes that when the city's health data warehouse is completed and connected, people's electronic health records will continue to be expanded, integrating more data from medical examination and treatment facilities. This helps manage and treat more effectively, contributing to the realization of comprehensive health care for people in the digital transformation era.
Previously, the unit had built and completed the Community Health Management platform. With this platform, from 2023, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health will use it to manage the health of the elderly.
From 2024 onwards, in addition to health data for the elderly, the unit will coordinate with the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City to manage periodic health check-up data for students throughout the city.
