At about 2:00 p.m. on April 26, while working in the fields in Sub-zone 186, Mr. Thao Bruc (born in 1969) and Mrs. Y Durh (born in 1974), residing in Dak Rang village, Po Y commune, Ngoc Hoi district, Kon Tum province, were suddenly hit by lightning.
The tragic incident caused Ms. Y Durh to die on the spot, while Mr. Thao Bruc was injured and was quickly taken to Ngoc Hoi Regional General Hospital for emergency treatment by local people.
Notably, this was the second lightning strike to occur in Ngoc Hoi district in just over a week, causing a total of 9 casualties.

As reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, at around 3:00 p.m. on April 14, while working in a farm in Dak Ang Commune, Ngoc Hoi District, a group of 7 people from Ta Pon Village (Dak Nong Commune) suddenly encountered heavy rain with thunderstorms and hail.
The group quickly ran into a nearby hut to take shelter from the rain. However, while taking shelter, a lightning suddenly hit the hut, causing Ms. Y Dung to die on the spot. The remaining 6 people were injured due to the impact of the lightning.
