According to the Department of Health of Can Tho City, in 2025, there will be 30 participating units with more than 2,100 people participating in the 2.5km walk. On this occasion, the Can Tho City Health Department received more than 1.1 billion VND to support poor patients.
Mr. Hoang Quoc Cuong - Director of the Department of Health of Can Tho City - said that in the past year, the health sector of Can Tho City has successfully completed the task of community health care, contributing to ensuring social security, and has been highly recognized by the City Party Committee and the People's Committee.
Mr. Hoang Quoc Cuong said that the health system of Can Tho City is increasingly being consolidated and the quality of the health care has been improved, and the socialization of people's health care has achieved many positive results. The capacity of Can Tho City for examination, treatment and health service provision has been improved and expanded.
In 2024, from the budget to mobilize support for grassroots health care in previous years, the Department of Health has supported the implementation of the Family Doctor model at Thanh Tien Commune Health Station, Thuan Hung Ward and Thuong Thanh Ward. The city's health sector has been continuing to consolidate and increase investment in human resources, equipment, and facilities from the city to the commune to meet the medical examination and treatment needs of people in the city and neighboring provinces," said Mr. Hoang Quoc Cuong.
According to annual practice, on the occasion of Vietnam Doctors' Day on February 27, the Can Tho City Health Sector organized a walk to raise funds and medical equipment to support improving the quality of medical examination and treatment at the grassroots level.
