A Vietnamese professor receives a Global Health Award

Prof. Dr. Tran Xuan Bach has just been honored to receive the Global Health Innovation Leadership Award 2025.

At the 16th Annual Conference held in Atlanta (USA) on February 20 - 23, 2025, Prof. Dr. Tran Xuan Bach - lecturer at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, was honored to receive the 2025 Global Health Innovation Leadership Award.

This is an award from the Association of Global Health Universities, to honor scientists who have made outstanding contributions to the development and implementation of innovative initiatives that have a positive impact on public health, especially in low-income countries.

Prof. Dr. Tran Xuan Bach was awarded the award for his important contributions to the field of health innovation, including research on health economy, health systems and digital health technologies to increase access to health care services for vulnerable groups.

Prof. Dr. Tran Xuan Bach is also a pioneer in integrating cost-effective and high-efficiency health models to optimize the health system, improve the capacity to respond to global health challenges and prevent epidemics in developing countries.

Prof. Dr. Tran Xuan Bach's receipt of this award marks an important milestone in his scientific career, and at the same time affirms the position of Vietnamese scientists in the international arena.

Previously, Prof. Dr. Bach was also awarded the Excellent Research Award by the World's largest Association for Health Economics Association ISPOR in 2023.

Honoring leading experts in the field not only affirms the importance of innovation in health but also promotes the development of sustainable solutions to improve the health of vulnerable communities around the world.

Over the years, the Global Global Health Innovation Leadership Award has been continuously awarded to outstanding professors from leading universities in the United States, recognizing their important contributions to solving global health challenges.

In 2024, the award honored Prof. Quentin Eichbaum, Chairman of the Board of Education, American Association of Clinical Diseases and Director of the Center for Blood Transfusion Medicine of Vanderbilt University, and Prof. Rajiv Chowdhury, Head of the Faculty of Global Health, University of Florida, for his 20-year efforts in leading and developing global health teaching programs at many of the world's leading medical training institutions.

Previously, in 2023, the award was given to Prof. Brittany Seymour, Vice President of Harvard Dental University, is in recognition of her important contributions to the field of global oral health and the campaign to include oral health in the global health agenda for many years.

In 2022, Prof. Karin B. Ulstrup, Northwestern University, USA, was honored for her initiatives on women's health and behavioral medicine.

In 2021, Prof. Carolyn Audet, Director of the Center for Clinical Quality Research at Vanderbilt University, was awarded this award for pioneering research on science applied in global health.

The Consortium of Universities for Global Health - CUGH) is a Washington DC-based organization, gathering nearly 200 universities and educational institutions around the world to cooperate to solve global health challenges.
