On October 22, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health said that after the press reported on a clinic located at 166A Tan Son Nhi Street, Tan Phu District, providing medical care for patients with hemorrhoids, the Department of Health Inspectorate initially determined that the facility had violated the law.
When the Department of Health Inspectorate coordinated with local authorities to inspect, this clinic was closed and not operating.
Conducting a search on the application of Medical and Pharmaceutical Practice Information Lookup in Ho Chi Minh City, the inspection team recorded that the above address is Mary Hospital Company Limited, with Ms. N.T.M as director; The Obstetrics and Gynecology Clinic under Mary Hospital Company Limited has a license to operate medical examination and treatment on August 28, 2023, issued by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health to Dr. L.N.A.T, responsible for professional and technical expertise.
The Health Department Inspectorate has invited the company director and related individuals to work. Initially, it was noted that the facility used unlicensed personnel to participate in medical examination and treatment.
Accordingly, Mr. T.V.D has a medical degree, has not been granted a practice license and is practicing obstetrics and gynecology at Tu Du Hospital (18-month obstetrics and gynecology practice class, course 17) and Ms. N.H.T.T is studying nursing at a medical school in the city.
The Inspectorate of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health has drawn up records of administrative violations against individuals/organizations for the following acts: examining and treating patients without a certificate to practice medical examination and treatment; Using practitioners without a certificate to practice medical examination and treatment; Advertising special products, goods and services without having the content confirmed by a competent state agency before advertising according to regulations.
For the above violations, in addition to administrative sanctions, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health revokes the right to use the license to operate medical examination and treatment and the right to use the certificate to practice medical examination and treatment of the person in charge of professional expertise of the facility. The facility is required to immediately stop operating medical examination and treatment, and at the same time remove and delete illegal advertisements.
The Department of Health sent an official dispatch to the Tan Phu District Health Department to monitor the suspension of operations of the facility and stop handling administrative procedures regarding the change of the doctor in charge of technical expertise of the facility.
At the same time, the leadership of Tu Du Hospital is requested to review and strictly handle the case of Mr. T.V.D. who, while participating in medical examination and treatment, committed administrative violations in the medical field.
