The Bao Yen regional General Hospital project has a total investment of 258 billion VND, implemented in the period of 2021 - 2025, and is currently expected to be completed and put into use in 2025, contributing to improving the quality of health care for local people.
The project is built in Bao Yen commune, invested by the Bao Yen Construction Investment Project Management Board.
The project has a scale of 250 beds, including the main building, the professional and medical examination technical complex, the inpatient treatment area, the infectious diseases department, the nutrition department, the general house and many other auxiliary items.
According to the design, this is one of 9 hospital projects implemented by Lao Cai province to strengthen the health sector's infrastructure system. When put into operation, the hospital will contribute to reducing the burden on the provincial level, serving tens of thousands of people in the southern part of the province.
It is known that the site clearance and resettlement work has been completed. Regarding the construction progress, the rough construction of the entire block has been completed.
Items such as a complex building, an administrative building, a nutrition house, an infectious disease department, an infection control area, a collective house, a bridge house, a wastewater treatment tank, etc. are being urgently completed.
The remaining workload mainly focuses on the installation of equipment: domestic sanitation systems, electricity and water, doors and operating room doors, glass walls, medical gas pipes, light electrical equipment. This is considered the decisive stage to bring the project to the finish line according to plan.
At the construction site on September 12, a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper recorded an urgent atmosphere. Dozens of workers and machinery are working hard to construct.
Local people expressed their hope that the project would be completed soon.
Ms. Vu Thi Thanh (Bao Yen commune, Lao Cai province) shared: The old hospital has deteriorated, the flood in September 2024 was still heavily flooded, greatly affecting medical examination and treatment. We really hope the new hospital will quickly be put into operation so that people can feel more secure when receiving treatment locally.
According to the Bao Yen Construction Investment Project Management Board, the project has disbursed the medium-term plan for the period 2021 - 2025, reaching 167.8 billion VND, equal to 99.4% of the plan; the disbursement of the capital plan for 2025 reached 8.97 billion VND, equivalent to 89.7% of the plan. It is expected that by the end of the year, the disbursement will reach 100%.
However, the project's progress is still slow compared to the handover milestone. In this situation, the investor has requested contractors to focus maximum human resources, speed up the construction of the remaining items, ensuring that the project must be completed and handed over by September 30, 2025.
At recent working sessions, representatives of departments and branches of Lao Cai province also requested the Bao Yen Project Management Board and construction units to strengthen coordination, promptly remove difficulties, and step up supervision and urging work to ensure progress and quality of the project.
With the determination of the investor and the participation of related units, it is expected that Bao Yen Regional General Hospital will soon be completed, becoming a pillar of health care for people in the region.
Speaking with Lao Dong, Mr. Tran Trong Thong - Chairman of Bao Yen Commune People's Committee - said that the investor is urging the contractor to speed up the implementation of the Bao Yen area General Hospital project to hand over and put into use in 2025.
