Provincial Party Secretary and Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee Trinh Xuan Truong has just issued a document on reviewing and suspending the implementation of works and projects in the process of arranging and organizing the administrative apparatus.
Accordingly, many administrative headquarters projects in districts in Lao Cai have been temporarily suspended to conduct reviews and find solutions.
However, for medical and educational facilities; national defense and security facilities, they will continue to be implemented.
On March 26, according to Lao Dong, at the construction project of the Bat Xat District General Hospital (BSH) invested by the Lao Cai Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board, after more than a year of construction, most of the items have been revealed.
The project has a total investment of 200 billion VND, the construction scale includes: a 7-storey boarding house, a professional technician and medical examination house, an administrative building and a medical center, and other auxiliary items.
Speaking with Lao Dong, Mr. Bui Minh Hai - Director of the Lao Cai Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board said: "According to the province's documents, only projects related to headquarters are being reviewed. As for the hospital and school projects, they are still being constructed normally. After more than a year of construction, the project has completed more than 80% of the work volume, and is expected to be put into operation in the first quarter of 2025".
Present in Pho Rang town, the reporter noted the bustling activities of both machinery and workers at the construction site of Bao Yen District General Hospital.
At the time of recording, according to observations, many workers were constructing the hospital items.
Through research, the Bao Yen District General Hospital project was approved in December 2021 with a total investment of 235 billion VND.
The project includes the following items: administrative and management building; consolidated building; anti-infection building; infectious disease department; apartment building and auxiliary items...
According to the Bao Yen District Construction Investment Project Management Board, the project has basically completed the rough construction, because the hospital has adjusted and supplemented the project and the design drawings to ensure the specific completion time when put into use, so it is not possible to confirm the completion time. But it will be completed in 2025.
Talking to Lao Dong, Mr. Le Quang Trung Hieu - Deputy Director of the Bao Yen District Construction Investment Project Management Board said: "The Bao Yen District General Hospital construction project has not been stopped but is still under construction. Administrative headquarters may be moved, but people are still there and still need medical examination and treatment."
Another project, Bac Ha District General Hospital, is also being accelerated.
The project was approved with the goal of building a new hospital with a scale of 250 beds, with a total investment of 200 billion VND.
The project has been under construction since 2022, expected to be completed by the end of 2024.
However, in the mid- to late 2023 period, during the construction process, on the main house area (in the case of a 6-storey block), there was a phenomenon of subsidence and many cracks appeared on the wall surfaces of the project.
Mr. Ha Duc Thanh - Director of the Bac Ha District Construction Investment Project Management Board - said: "The Bac Ha District General Hospital construction project had to stop construction for about a year due to subsidence. Therefore, the unit has requested an extension of the completion time. Currently, the contractor is speeding up construction again and is expected to hand over the hospital by October".
