In the face of the current measles situation, on March 19, the Ministry of Health established 6 inspection, supervision, guidance, and direction teams for disease prevention and implementation of measles vaccination campaigns.
Team No. 1 inspects and supervises provinces and cities in the Northern region.
Team No. 2 inspects and supervises provinces and cities in the Central region.
Team No. 3 inspects and supervises provinces and cities in the Southern region.
Team No. 4 inspects and supervises provinces and cities in the Central Highlands region.
Team No. 5 conducts surprise inspections and supervision in provinces and cities in the Northern and Central Highlands regions.

Measles cases in Ho Chi Minh City tend to be stable
According to the latest statistics from the Ho Chi Minh City Center for Disease Control (HCDC), in week 11 (10-16.), the city recorded 270 measles cases, a stable trend compared to the average of the previous 4 weeks (290 cases).
The total number of measles cases accumulated from the beginning of 2025 to week 11 is 3,819 cases. The cumulative number of cases from the beginning of the epidemic season to week 11 is 7,862 cases. Districts with a high number of measles cases accumulated from the beginning of the epidemic season to week 11 include Thu Duc City, Binh Tan District and Binh Chanh District.

Hai Duong speeds up vaccination against measles
According to the report of the Department of Health, from the beginning of 2025 to now, the whole Hai Duong province has recorded 119 cases of measles scattered in localities, Hai Duong City has the highest number of cases (71 cases). 72.7% of cases have not been fully vaccinated against measles.
To speed up the vaccination of measles vaccination according to the direction of the Prime Minister, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Hai Duong province requested the Department of Health to coordinate with the People's Committees of districts, towns and cities to urgently review and synthesize data on subjects of measles vaccination age who have not been vaccinated or have not been fully vaccinated, and propose the need for measles vaccines to the Ministry of Health.

Measles cases in Ninh Binh increase dramatically
From the beginning of 2025 to now, the number of measles cases has increased compared to the same period in 2024 and tends to have an outbreak in some localities.
At Ninh Binh Province Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital, since the beginning of the year, the number of patients coming for examination and suspected of having measles has increased in the past month.
Doctor Vu Thi Son - Deputy Head of the Department of Infectious Diseases, Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital of Ninh Binh province said that in 2024, the department will not accept any measles cases for examination and treatment. Cao Bang get vaccinated against measles after recording a death
Patient Hoang A.Q (born in 2023, H'Mong ethnic group, residing in Ban Oong, Son Lap commune, Bao Lac district) was admitted to the Medical Center (TTYT) of Pac Nam district (Bac Kan) in critical condition.
According to information from the Pac Nam District Health Center, the child had a rash since March 7, but was not admitted to the hospital until March 10.
When admitted to the hospital, the child was in a state of serious illness with symptoms: pale skin, dry lips, deep sluggish eyes due to severe dehydration, not responding when asked. Doctors diagnosed the child with acute respiratory failure, pneumonia, high fever, severe dehydration and monitored for measles (tests have not been taken).

Despite emergency care and intensive treatment, the child did not survive and died at 9:30 p.m. the same day. The cause of death was determined to be late hospitalization, leading to severe pneumonia complications, acute respiratory failure and severe dehydration. See more
Kon Tum speeds up vaccination to control complex measles epidemic
On March 19, information from the Department of Health of Kon Tum province said that the measles epidemic is complicated, with high and prolonged cases in many districts and cities in the area.
According to the infectious disease monitoring system, Kon Tum province has recorded 665 cases of suspected measles rash fever in 10 districts and cities.
Of these, 61 cases have been confirmed positive for measles virus and 599 cases have to be hospitalized for treatment. Most of the cases of the disease are children aged 0-10 years.
In the face of the above situation, the Department of Health recommends that the People's Committees of districts and cities urgently strengthen measles vaccination, ensuring enough human resources, funding, necessary materials and equipment. See more
