Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province Vuong Quoc Tuan has just signed and issued a Plan to implement Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo and the Government's Action Program on breakthroughs in science, technology development, innovation and national digital transformation.
In which, 4 key tasks, breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and digital transformation in Bac Ninh province are raised, including:
Building Bac Ninh into an important stronghold, a pillar in Vietnam's semiconductor industrial ecosystem.
Focus on building an innovation ecosystem, making a breakthrough in development to become a center for innovation in the country and the region.
Promote digital transformation associated with the development of digital government, digital economy, digital society, digital citizens.
In particular, according to the plan, Bac Ninh province will aim to become one of the leading training, research and development centers in the country.
To achieve the above goal, Bac Ninh province will invest in the construction of a number of projects to serve the development of science, technology and innovation, such as:
1. Develop the Science and Technology Application Training Area I (University Urban Area I) with an area of about 200 hectares in Bac Ninh city.
2. Develop the Science and Technology Application Training Area II (University Urban Area II) with an area of about 500 hectares in Tien Du district.
3. Build a new project of the Capital region's Institute of High-level Science and Technology Research with an area of about 300 hectares in Gia Binh district.
4. Develop 2 concentrated science and technology development research areas with an area of about 200 to 300 hectares in Gia Binh district to meet the needs of research, application, science, technology transfer, and innovation of Bac Ninh province and neighboring provinces.
5. Restructuring, investing and exploiting effectively The High-tech Agricultural Experimental Area in Viet Doan commune, Tien Du district according to an advanced model in the world, becomes a center for demonstrating, training, experiencing and transferring advanced technologies in agriculture.
6. Invest and effectively exploit industrial parks and high-tech agricultural areas in the province towards a green economy, developing a circular economy; rapidly increase the number of enterprises with research and development activities, strongly invest in science, technology development and innovation, and effective use of resources.
7. Focus on investing, attracting investment, cooperating with universities, domestic and foreign research and training centers on training human resources in the fields of information technology, electronics and telecommunications, semiconductor technology, STEM, Mathematics, why, information, etc.
Bac Ninh is one of the industrial capitals in the North, concentrating a series of FDI giants in the fields of technology equipment manufacturing, electronics, and semiconductors.
This locality is implementing a plan to become a centrally-governed city by the end of 2026.
