On October 20, according to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, localities are urgently implementing site clearance to build the Ho Chi Minh City - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh expressway project.
The project has a site clearance length of 45.7 km, the reclaimed land area is 344.1 ha. The project affects 1,609 households, individuals and organizations. It is expected to resettle 252 cases.
Up to now, the units have issued notices of land recovery to related cases. Measurement was conducted on 1,605 cases (reaching 99.7%), drawings were assessed on 1,601 cases (reaching 99.5%), and 1,514 cases were counted (reaching 94%).
Notably, the units have approved compensation, support and resettlement plans for 788 cases with an amount of VND 2,766 billion (49%).

Currently, there have been 318 cases of site handover with an area of 136.25 hectares (reaching 40% of the total area expected to be reclaimed).
According to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, in 2025, the capital disbursement plan for the project's compensation and resettlement support is VND 8,000 billion. Up to now, VND2,766 billion in compensation has been disbursed (reaching a rate of 35% compared to the assigned capital plan).
The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has directed the Land Fund Development Center and the People's Committees of communes and wards to speed up the progress of site clearance. Complete compensation and site clearance in December 2025.

The Ho Chi Minh City - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh Expressway project passes through 4 districts of the former Binh Duong province. After merging Binh Duong with Ho Chi Minh City, it was determined that the project will pass through 9 communes including: Tan Khanh, Tan Hiep, Vinh Tan, Binh Duong, Binh Co, Phuoc Hoa, An Long, Chanh Phu Hoa, Bau Bang. The project starts at Tan Khanh ward, the end point is Bau Bang commune connecting to Chon Thanh ward, Dong Nai province (formerly Chon Thanh town, Binh Phuoc province).
