On May 28, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee announced that it had issued a plan to implement component project 1 to clear the site for the Ho Chi Minh City - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh expressway - section passing through Binh Duong province previously.
The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee requests units to ensure close coordination between departments, agencies, branches, and People's Committees of communes and wards in organizing the implementation of tasks according to their functions and authority; promptly advise and handle contents under specialized responsibility, according to the direction of the City People's Committee and tasks assigned or authorized by the City People's Committee, ensuring project implementation progress.
The project implementation must ensure publicity, transparency, synchronization and compliance with legal regulations; ensure the legitimate rights and interests of people whose land is recovered; implement land recovery and site handover according to the planned schedule, contributing to improving investment efficiency when the project is put into operation.
The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee requests units to mobilize the involvement of the entire political system; strengthen close coordination between the Investor, departments, agencies, and People's Committees of communes and wards in organizing the implementation of the project.
The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee proposed to clearly define the tasks and responsibilities of each agency and unit, in the process of project implementation, ensuring the correct implementation of the planned schedule and progress set out. Strictly comply with the provisions of law; and at the same time study and apply specific mechanisms and policies (if any) permitted by competent authorities to ensure the effective implementation of assigned tasks.
Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee sets the completion time for compensation, support, and resettlement for the project before October 1, 2026.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, the Ho Chi Minh City - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh expressway project has a total length of about 52.159 km.
In which, the section passing through the old Binh Duong province is nearly 46 km long with a total investment of about 17,400 billion VND. The land area recovered for the project is 344 ha, affecting 1,615 households, individuals, and organizations. It is expected to arrange resettlement for 252 cases.
The site clearance project goes through 10 communes and wards, including: Tan Khanh, Tan Hiep, Vinh Tan, Binh Duong, Binh Co, Phuoc Hoa, An Long, Chanh Phu Hoa ward and Bau Bang commune.
Up to now, the units have completed the land recovery notice and measurement, drawing appraisal. The units have also approved plans and disbursed compensation, support, and resettlement for over 1,000 cases.
Regarding project construction, according to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, the project was started in early 2025. However, there is currently not enough land, which greatly affects the project progress.
