The People's Committee of Son La province has just issued a decision on cases of enjoying social housing support policies in the province.
According to the decision, people with houses under their ownership but 30km or more away from the workplace (based on the shortest road) will enjoy social housing support policies.
In case of two or more houses, the distance will be calculated from the house closest to the workplace but must still ensure a minimum of 30km.
This policy applies to the subjects specified in Article 76 of the 2023 Housing Law, including low-income people, workers, civil servants, armed forces, etc.
In addition, agencies, organizations and enterprises related to the development and management of social housing in the province are also identified as subjects of indirect application.
The Department of Construction of Son La province is assigned to preside over the implementation, guide organizations and individuals to determine the valid distance; at the same time, synthesize problems to report to the Provincial People's Committee for timely handling.
Relevant departments, branches and commune-level People's Committees are responsible for coordinating inspection, monitoring, and guidance for people, and at the same time advising the Provincial People's Committee to resolve issues arising during the implementation process.
The decision takes effect from August 1, 2025.
