Van Phong Economic Zone Management Board has just reported the progress of key projects up to November 2024.
According to the Van Phong Economic Zone Management Board, the Dam Mon High-end Urban Area and Tu Bong High-end Urban Area projects are in the process of completing the application for approval of the project investment policy; and are collecting opinions from relevant agencies.
Currently, the Van Phong Economic Zone Management Board has signed a contract with the Central and Central Highlands Geodesy and Cartography Joint Stock Company to implement a consulting package to establish a task outline to organize the investigation, survey, measurement, counting, and verification of the origin of land and assets attached to land in this project.
Van Phong Economic Zone Management Board is implementing land acquisition procedures for Dam Mon High-end Urban Area and Tu Bong High-end Urban Area projects; completing the preparation, appraisal and approval of bidding documents for Co Ma High-end Urban Area project.
As for the Doc Da Trang Industrial Park project, the construction zoning plan (1/2000) has been approved by the Provincial People's Council. Ninh Hoa and Van Ninh localities are taking steps to reclaim land. Regarding the progress, it was previously expected to start construction in June 2025, but now the Provincial People's Committee has proposed to speed up the construction progress to start before April 2025.
Contribute thousands of billions of dong to the budget
From 2021 to March 2024, Van Phong Economic Zone has attracted 5 new projects and adjusted capital increase for 11 projects with a total registered capital of VND 25,158 billion, reaching 16.8% of the target set by the Resolution (VND 150,000 billion); realized capital is VND 48,395 billion, reaching about 65% of the target set by the Resolution (VND 75,000 billion).
Contribution to the budget revenue reached about 8,703 billion VND, accounting for about 18% of the province; creating stable jobs for about 8,500 workers, reaching 85% of the Resolution's target.
Some large-scale projects have been implemented, such as the Van Phong BOT Thermal Power Plant Project (409 hectares, total capital of about 2.58 billion USD), completed construction and put into operation in January 2024.
The Bac Van Phong General Port Project (42.75ha; capacity to receive ships up to 70,000DWT) and the Nam Van Phong General Port Project (35.3ha; capacity to receive ships up to 50,000DWT) have come into operation and are carrying out procedures to expand the capacity to 100,000DWT. The Doc Da Trang Industrial Park Infrastructure Investment and Construction Project (288ha, total capital of about 1,800 billion VND).
