According to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, currently, on DT 744 road, 2 projects are being implemented including the construction of a drainage system and upgrading and expanding DT 744 (from km 12+000 to km 32+000).
In particular, a drainage system will be built on DT 744 passing through Phu An ward and Tay Nam ward. When implementing the project, there were 169 cases affected with a reclaimed area of about 0.97ha.
Up to now, the units have completed the notice of land recovery and measurement. The counting work has been carried out on 161/169 cases, reaching 95%; compensation plans have been approved for 78 cases with an amount of 39.1 billion VND, reaching 46.15%. There have been 52 cases of site handover with a reclaimed area of 0.484 hectares, reaching 49.9%.

For the project to upgrade and expand DT 744 (from km 12+000 to km 32+000), site clearance will also be carried out in the section passing through Phu An ward and Tay Nam ward. When implementing the project, 848 affected cases had to be compensated about 835 billion VND to reclaim the site.
To date, 530 cases have been measured. The Compensation Council approved a draft compensation and support plan for 309 cases with an amount of 65.3 billion VND.
Phu An ward and Tay Nam ward are focusing on mobilizing people to agree to receive compensation and hand over the site. The leaders of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee requested the two wards and related units to complete compensation and site clearance for the project in November 2025.

According to the reporter's records, due to the lack of land, construction projects have been sluggish for the past 2 years. Meanwhile, DT 744 road is degraded, some sections are damaged, and have deep holes, posing a danger to road users.
