On July 8, Phu Quoc Special Police (An Giang Province) said that the unit is investigating the illegal land occupation case that occurred in Group 1, Ong Lang Quarter.
According to initial information, at 10:00 a.m. on July 7, people discovered 8 chain cake diggers digging ponds and leveling the ground at the land plot in Group 1, Ong Lang Quarter.
At the scene, the police discovered 3 chain cake excavators operating in the above land and 5 chain cake excavators parked near the scene.
Working with the authorities, the bus drivers informed Ms. N.T.K.H (residing in Quarter 4, Phu Quoc Special Zone) - claiming to be the owner of the land plot - to have a contract with Mr. P.V.H to hire a bus to dig a pond and level the ground. After that, Mr. H hired 8 chain-caused cake excavators to do the work.
At the time of discovery, the subjects had not yet presented relevant documents from the authorities allowing the digging of ponds and leveling the ground on the above land plot.
Initially, the Cua Duong Land Team determined that the land plot occupied by Ms. H had an area of over 50,000 m2. On the land, Ms. H built a temporary house with an area of 36.92; dug a pond with an area of over 6,000m2. The remaining area of over 43,900m2 was leveled. The origin and use of this land area from before 1993 to 1998 was unused land, not assigned by the state management agency on land to any organization or individual, then this land belonged to the Forest Protection and Special Use Management Board.
In 2005, the People's Committee of Kien Giang province granted a sand mining license to N.T Private Enterprise, this land area is within the sand mining scope of N.T. company. On December 14, 2012, Kien Giang Provincial People's Committee reclaimed the land and handed it over to Cua Duong Commune People's Committee for management until now.
Currently, Phu Quoc Special Police and the Land Use Group of Cua Duong commune (old) continue to verify and clarify to handle in accordance with the provisions of law.
