After the floods at the end of 2024, many serious landslides and subsidence points appeared in Pa Vay Su commune (Tuyen Quang province), threatening the lives and property of hundreds of households.
Faced with urgent requirements, Tuyen Quang province has decided to implement an emergency relocation project out of areas at high risk of landslides in Pa Vay Su commune. At the same time, resettlement areas are also being urgently built according to a special mechanism so that people can soon have safe and stable accommodation.
Recorded at the end of May 2026, at the Emergency Population Stabilization Project due to natural disasters in Coc Pu - Nan Ma village, overcoming difficult terrain, construction work took place continuously, racing for progress and harsh weather.
The project with a total investment of 528 billion VND, implemented from June 2025, arranges resettlement for 109 households at high risk of landslides.
Currently, on the site of more than 8ha of the Coc Pu - Nan Ma resettlement area, the contractor is accelerating the construction progress of the dyke system, drainage culverts, leveling the foundation and reinforcing the taluy at key locations with landslide risk.
After completing the infrastructure, households subject to urgent relocation will move here and be allocated from 350 - 400 m2 of land per household. Essential infrastructure systems such as electricity, water, and roads are synchronously completed.

According to the construction contractor (Anh Minh Technology Joint Stock Company-HG), to date, the project has reached about 45% of the volume, the completion plan is by the end of 2026, but before the urgent requirement to relocate people from the landslide area, construction is being accelerated to complete earlier than expected.
Mr. Pham Hong Thuy - Site Commander said that the rainy season is very near, the unit sets a target to basically complete the ground by August 2026, handing it over to the locality to organize a lottery for residential land locations for households.
Also in Pa Vay Su commune, the resettlement area of Tinh Tang village - Ban Ngo is being urgently constructed and infrastructure is being completed before the rainy and flood season. The project has a total investment of 274 billion VND, a scale of more than 7.5 hectares, arranging accommodation for 54 households in dangerous areas.
During the implementation process, the resettlement area project of Tinh Tang village - Ban Ngo encountered difficulties due to frequent landslides. Many sections on the road to the project were continuously buried with soil and rocks after each rain, which affected the construction work.

While waiting for resettlement areas to be completed and handed over, the solution is still to proactively prevent complicated weather developments. Plans to evacuate residents, be on duty at high-risk points, and review landslide areas have all been activated by localities.
The rainy and flood season in the highlands of Tuyen Quang is approaching, which is why the work of relocating people out of dangerous areas is becoming urgent.
Informing PV, Mr. Duong Viet Hung - Chairman of Pa Vay Su Commune People's Committee said that the population arrangement points are all selected on the basis of ensuring safety, while facilitating production and long-term livelihood development for people.
The goal is not only to take people out of dangerous areas, but also to rebuild them in a safe and stable direction towards forming model residential areas," Mr. Hung said.
