Khanh Hoa province has sent a report to Steering Committee 1568 and the Ministry of Finance on the results of reviewing and updating additional 28 investment projects facing difficulties and obstacles, bringing the total to 245 projects with long-standing problems in the area.
Previously, according to the report before August 1, the whole province had 217 projects behind schedule, mostly due to legal procedures such as bidding to select investors, land allocation, land lease, etc.
In response to the request of the Ministry of Finance, the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province has assigned the Department of Finance to preside over and coordinate with relevant departments and branches to continue reviewing and synthesizing, on that basis, adding 28 more projects with long-term problems.
Among the newly added projects, many projects are considered slow to implement, such as: Vinh Trung Urban Area, CC3 Social Housing Apartment, Quang Minh Commercial - Housing Center, Hung Thinh Residential Area... These projects are all selected for investors in the form of investor recognition, without going through bidding.

Notably, the Nha Trang Golden Gate project (No. 28E Tran Phu, Nam Nha Trang ward) invested by Dinh Vang Nha Trang Company Limited was once involved in a criminal case violating regulations on management and use of state assets, causing serious losses.
The project was allocated land without auction, causing a budget loss of more than 137.7 billion VND.
Regarding this case, in 2023, Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Court sentenced 4 former provincial leaders: Mr. Nguyen Chien Thang - former Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to 5 years and 6 months in prison; Mr. Le Duc Vinh - former Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and Mr. Dao Cong Thien - former Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to 3 years and 6 months in prison; Mr. Vo Tan Thai - former Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment was sentenced to 4 years in prison.
Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee is currently continuing to review backlog projects to classify causes and propose appropriate solutions, limit waste of resources and contribute to promoting local socio-economic development.
