To serve the site clearance for the Tran Yen Industrial Park Project phase I, along with mobilizing site clearance and early handover of land, the Au Lau ward government, Lao Cai province is accelerating the construction progress of the resettlement area.
The resettlement area with a scale of more than 10ha, total investment of about 200 billion VND, is expected to arrange accommodation for about 400 affected households.
Records of Lao Dong Newspaper reporters on July 4 show that in the resettlement area in Truc Thanh residential group, Au Lau ward, machinery and workers are focusing on constructing technical infrastructure.
The internal traffic road system, leveling, and drainage are being implemented simultaneously with site clearance work.
More than 100 land plots with an area of 120-180m2/plot have been divided, in which some households who received land early have proactively built houses to stabilize their lives.
Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh, a resident of Au Lau ward, said that the resettlement area has been implemented for nearly a year.
Some households with favorable locations have completed their houses, but many households still hope that the locality will soon complete the infrastructure so that families who have to relocate can stabilize their accommodation before handing over land for the project.
Talking to a reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Pham Tien Dung - Chairman of Au Lau Ward People's Committee - said that after implementing the administrative boundary merger, the locality received and became the investor of the resettlement area project in Truc Thanh residential group.
Currently, the ward is focusing on clearing the remaining area, and at the same time completing the technical infrastructure system to soon arrange accommodation for about 400 households in the resettlement area.
According to Mr. Dung, accelerating the progress of the resettlement area is of great significance for the site clearance of the Tran Yen Industrial Park Project phase I - a key project of Lao Cai province.
Tran Yen Industrial Park phase I project has a scale of nearly 255ha, with a total investment of more than 2,184 billion VND, invested by Viglacera Corporation - JSC.
The project is synchronously planned in terms of technical infrastructure, with a convenient location when connected to the Noi Bai - Lao Cai expressway and the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway line in the future.
Up to now, site clearance work is being implemented in each area.
The Western area has completed inventorying 100% of affected households, approved more than 212 billion VND in compensation and basically handed over the site to the investor.
For the Eastern area, the locality has completed inventory of over 96% of households, and at the same time continues to complete compensation, support and resettlement dossiers.
The locality sets a goal to complete site clearance for the entire project this year to accelerate the progress of industrial park infrastructure construction.
When put into operation, the project is expected to attract many domestic and foreign businesses, create jobs for about 40,000 workers, and contribute to promoting the development of industry, services and supporting economic sectors of Lao Cai province.
