Currently, the housing demand of workers and low-income workers in Thai Nguyen is increasing day by day. Faced with this situation, the locality is implementing a series of social housing projects with the goal of completing over 60,000 apartments by 2030.
Started at the end of February 2026, the TNG Viet Bac social housing project is located on an area of nearly 1.9ha.
The project has a total investment of more than 1,230 billion VND, with a scale of 1,029 social housing apartments in 2 22-story apartment buildings, and 26 commercial housing units.
According to PV's records, at the construction site, dozens of workers and equipment are being mobilized to speed up the project progress.
The contractor is deploying the processing and installation of reinforced steel foundations and foundation molds. The item of pouring concrete for box culverts has been 100% completed.
According to the plan, the project will be implemented in 36 months. However, the investor committed to shortening the completion time to 24 months.
When completed, the project is expected to provide stable housing for about 2,400 people, contributing to improving living conditions for workers, laborers and policy beneficiaries.
Similarly, at the Social Housing project in Viet Han Urban Area in Pho Yen ward, after about 6 months of construction, the project has been completed to the 9th floor of the first building.
The project is implemented on an area of more than 29,000m2 with a total of 1,128 apartments, meeting the housing needs of nearly 2,500 people. The land fund for social housing is located in the center of the urban area.
As for the An Phu Social Housing project (Pho Yen ward), dozens of workers and machinery and equipment are mobilized to speed up progress.
The project is built on an area of more than 2.24ha, with a scale of more than 2,100 apartments, with a total investment of nearly 1,840 billion VND.
In addition to residential blocks, technical infrastructure systems, internal traffic, water supply and drainage, lighting, green trees, and community living areas are also invested synchronously.
According to the Thai Nguyen Department of Construction, currently the whole province has 15 social housing projects that have been approved for investment policy.
Some projects have been completed and apartments have been handed over to people. In 2026 alone, the province sets a target to continue to approve investment in 10 to 12 new projects. At the same time, complete 5,000 to 6,000 social housing apartments.
To ensure the implementation progress, the locality focuses on removing difficulties and obstacles related to investment procedures, land, and site clearance.
According to the plan, in the period 2026 - 2030, Thai Nguyen is assigned to develop 24,800 social housing units. However, based on the provincial planning for the period 2021 - 2030, vision to 2050, Thai Nguyen has adjusted and supplemented the target to 60,000 units by 2030.
The whole province has reviewed and identified 73 projects and land locations for social housing development with a total area of about 258.81ha. To date, the whole province has completed 7,691 social housing units.
In the period 2027 - 2030, the locality is expected to continue to approve the investment policy for the remaining 36 projects.
