According to the decision, by 2030, Phu Tho strives to develop and complete about 1,480 new public housing units with a total floor area of about 88,800 m2.
This housing fund will serve those who are eligible to rent official residences according to regulations, contributing to meeting the housing needs for the team of cadres, civil servants, and public employees who are transferred and rotated.
The program also sets out many targets for improving quality and expanding the housing fund throughout the province. In the field of commercial housing, Phu Tho will develop about 35.4 million m2 of new floor space, equivalent to about 124,000 units in the period 2021-2030.
At the same time, the province encourages project investors in large urban areas according to the plan to 2030 to allocate about 5% of housing products for rent.
For social housing, the province aims to complete at least 64,400 apartments with a total floor area of about 3.794 million m2 according to the target assigned by the Prime Minister.
Along with that is a plan to complete about 5,000 social housing apartments for the armed forces, equivalent to about 300,000 m2 of floor space.
In addition, Phu Tho also aims to develop about 7,000 worker accommodation apartments in industrial parks with a total floor area of about 350,000 m2.
These apartments will be leased to workers or subleased by businesses to arrange accommodation for workers.
Explaining the adjustment of the Housing Development Program, the Provincial People's Committee said that before implementing the arrangement of administrative units, Hoa Binh, Phu Tho and Vinh Phuc provinces had all issued their own housing development programs for the period 2021-2030 according to the provisions of the Housing Law through each period.
However, on June 12, 2025, the National Assembly issued Resolution No. 202/2025/QH15 on arranging provincial-level administrative units.
Accordingly, 3 provinces Hoa Binh, Phu Tho and Vinh Phuc are merged to establish a new Phu Tho province. According to the provisions of Clause 1, Article 28 of the Housing Law, the adjustment of the provincial-level housing development program is carried out when there are changes in planning or when establishing, merging, dividing, or adjusting the administrative boundaries of provincial-level units.
