Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has just issued a plan to implement compensation, support, and resettlement work to serve the Rach Chiec National Sports Complex project in Binh Trung ward.
According to the plan, the project affects 853 households. Up to now, Binh Trung Ward People's Committee has organized investigations, surveys, measurements, and inventories of 837 households.
The city is developing a roadmap of 20 steps to complete all compensation, support, resettlement, land acquisition and handover of land to investors in October 2026.
The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee requests to mobilize the entire political system to participate in the project implementation; strengthen coordination between departments, branches, local authorities and investors to ensure the set progress.
The city also requests to clearly define the responsibilities of each agency, unit and investor in the implementation process; and at the same time ensure that compensation, support, and resettlement are carried out publicly, transparently, to the right subjects, in accordance with policies, and limit the occurrence of prolonged complaints and lawsuits.

Rach Chiec National Sports Complex is more than 186 hectares wide, started in January 2026, with a total investment of more than 145,600 billion VND under the BT (build - transfer) contract form. The project is expected to be implemented in about 8 years.
The largest item is the 24-hectare central stadium, with a capacity of about 70,000 seats, meeting the standards for organizing SEA Games and ASIAD.
The stadium has a total investment of about 35,000 billion VND, designed with soundproofing roofs, air conditioning systems and automatic opening and closing capabilities. The project can be flexibly converted from a sports competition space to organize large-scale music festivals and entertainment events.
The project also includes a multi-purpose gymnasium and performance hall with a capacity of about 18,000 seats; water sports, tennis and integrated sports centers.
The service - public area is planned with squares, sports hospitals, conference - exhibition centers, along with a system of green trees, water surfaces, technical infrastructure and internal traffic invested synchronously.
