Perhaps many clubs across Europe have been surprised by the huge sums of money that Premier League sides have spent over the past month.
The most prominent of which was the Premier League record-breaking contract signed for Enzo Fernandez at the deadline. With £105 million, Chelsea have successfully recruited the Argentine midfielder from Benfica.
Manchester United has also been active in the market, signing a rush with Marcel Sabitzer on loan from Bayern Munich to replace the long-term injury of Christian Eriksen.
Jorginho's £10 million move to Arsenal on the last day also caused many surprises. The Gunners were almost able to welcome Mosies Caicedo from Brighton for no less than £80 million, unfortunately the deal could not be completed.
And in total, 20 Premier League clubs have spent nearly £800 million this winter. That number has far exceeded the record set in January 2018, at £430 million.
With a busy and stressful schedule ahead, these new recruits are further awaited...
Enzo Fernandez
Fernandez, along with Mykhaylo Mudryk, Benoit Badiashile, Noni Madueke, Malo Gusto, Andrey Santos, David Datro Fofana and Joao Felix, were new signings to the Stamford Bridge side in January.
Fernandez broke the Premier League transfer record set by Jack Grealish in 2021 ( £100 million to Man City). The Blues also pursued Moises Caicedo at the end of the transfer window, selling Jorginho to Arsenal and deciding to keep Conor Gallagher - a series of high-risk decisions in midfield.
Fernandez has agreed an eight-year contract that will keep him at Stamford Bridge until 2031.
This has been one of the busiest transfer windows ever, reflecting Chelsea's desire to end the season in a higher position. They are currently in 10th place in the Premier League.
Cody Gakpo
Liverpool seriously chased Gakpo in the early days of the winter market and took the Dutch international from Man United for £37.2 million.
Gakpo disappointed in his FA Cup debut against Wolves and fans were starting to worry, as he had to compete with five other for three attacking positions.
The new midfield is in a more urgent position, but has been overlooked. Gakpo is not a bad deal, but it is above the level needed when Liverpool will still play slowly with a downed midfield, with many injuries.
Anthony Gordon
Gordon was Chelsea's top target in the summer, but the Blues dropped him due to a fee disagreement. In the winter, the "Gunners" Newcastle did not hesitate to spend 40 million pounds to get a nod from Everton.
With 7 goals and 3 assists after 65 matches in the Premier League, Gordon has left many doubts about his ability. But the reality shows that Newcastle are operating well with their buying decisions since the beginning of the season.
Leandro Trossard & Jorginho
Arsenal's No. 1 goal is to add the missing positions to the Premier League championship race. And with their top position, the Gunners easily attract any big star.
Arteta initially paid attention to young stars such as Mykhaylo Mudryk (22 years old) and Moises Caicedo (21 years old), but Arsenal would have to pay a huge sum of about £160 million.
Therefore, the Gunners are aiming for players with more experienced quality and suitable prices, although age is a limiting factor, such as Trossard (28) and Jorginho (31).
It is a safer country, with £21 million for Trossard and £10 million for Jorginho not affecting their summer spending plans too much. Moreover, both of these names have affirmed their talent in the Premier League and filled the necessary gap in Arsenal's youth squad.
Arteta and Edu did well with these decisions.
