Does Liverpool want Mbappe?
As a team that does not spend too much in the transfer market, up to now, The Kop still has the desired goals, especially Thiago Alcantara. To continue to improve, Liverpool still need more long-term options.
In the case of Kylian Mbappe, Real Madrid have long wanted to take the French striker out of Ligue 1. Because the amount PSG will give to those who are interested in Mbappe is not less than 150 million Euros. Up to now, only Man City and Real are the teams that can accept it.
Jurgen Klopp has been following Mbappe closely for the past few months. The German coach contacted Mbappe's father in May 2020. However, they all admit that it will be difficult to pull the 2018 World Cup champion out of the Parc des Princes.
There is no sign that PSG will reduce Mbappe's price, despite the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Looking at Dortmund, they still "nailed" the price for Sancho of 108 million pounds, there is no reason for PSG to lower themselves to the transfer table with the team's number 1 star.
It will not be a problem for The Kop to just spend a small amount of money to catch the "big fish" Mbappe, like spending 65 million pounds to get the duo Thiago - Jota.
However, Mbappe's contract with PSG is only 2 years old and the striker himself said he would leave the team after the 2020-21 season. Liverpool could have an easier time if they still wanted to buy Mbappe, of course on the condition that they were not allowed to worry about money if they did not want Real Madrid to overtake them.
Can Liverpool rival Real Madrid?
The Kop are Premier League champions and have also won the Champions League in the last 2 seasons. However, in terms of stature and finances, they are far behind Real Madrid.
Before asking to buy Eden Hazard for 105 million Euros, Real Madrid had fallen to 180 million Euros but Mbappe ended up choosing PSG. After 3 years of not being able to fulfill his Champions League dream, it is time for Mbappe to leave.
If they use their money to play a duet, Liverpool have no chance against Real Madrid. If we consider their achievements, they are not good at their stature. The only thing left is the strategy for the next few years, will Liverpool be better than Real?
If Mbappe returns to the Bernabeu, he will be the perfect replacement for his senior Karim Benzema. Returning to Liverpool next summer, Mbappe will have to compete with Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane. If Liverpool pointed out to Mbappe that they need him as the main factor in rebuilding the team after a period of success, luckily The Kop will have a way to convince this star.
Otherwise, for Real, Mbappe will easily be the number 1 star of the attack, enjoying many privileges and standing shoulder to shoulder with the team that has a habit of winning the Champions League.
