Man United have just lost two consecutive home matches, against Nottingham Forest (2-3) and Bournemouth (0-3). Coach Ruben Amorim's team has lost four of their last six matches in all competitions.
That makes the comeback win over Man City all the more unbelievable. Although it will be difficult to repeat that result, the Red Devils need to try to win their final two matches of 2024, against Wolves and Newcastle. Because right at the beginning of the new year 2025, they have to face Liverpool and Arsenal.
Traveling to Molineux, Man United was given more motivation after winning all 5 recent matches at this stadium.
On the other side, Wolves' spirits will be high after a 3-0 win over Leicester City last week.
That result ended a four-game losing streak and saw them close the gap to safety to two points. Wolves’ last two wins were away from home, with seven goals scored. So far, Vitor Pereira’s side have scored as many goals as or more than six of the top 10 teams (27).
Wolves need to maintain this confidence, as their next nine Premier League opponents are all clubs who are contenders for the title or top four, including the top three teams in the table, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal.
Expected lineup:
Wolves: Jose Sa; Nelson Semedo, Bueno, Toti; R Gomes, J Gomes, Andre, Ait-Nouri; Guedes, Strand Larsen, Cunha.
Manchester United: Onana; De Ligt, Maguire, Martinez; Mazraoui, Ugarte, Mainoo, Dalot; Amad, Hojlund, Fernandes.
