Players such as Trung Kien, Thai Son, Van Truong, Thanh Nhan, Dinh Bac, Quoc Viet, Van Cuong... are potential pillars of U22 Vietnam. They have participated in many regional and continental tournaments as well as been trained by the national team for a long time.
Meanwhile, the group of players aged 18-20 who may be given opportunities include Cao Van Binh, Pham Dinh Hai, Nguyen Manh Hung, Tran Nam Hai, Nguyen Bao Long, Le Van Ha, Nguyen Ngoc My, Doan Ngoc Ha, Nguyen Cong Phuong, Nguyen Thanh Dat, Nguyen Gia Bao.
Notably, some overseas Vietnamese factors such as Viktor Le, Andrej Nguyen An Khanh... are likely to be called up to try and prove their abilities.
According to the plan, after about 2 weeks of training, U22 Vietnam will leave for China to participate in the CFA Team China 2025 international friendly tournament in Jiangsu.
U22 Vietnam has the opportunity to compete and rub shoulders with quality opponents in the region such as U22 Korea, U22 Uzbekistan and U22 China. From there, the players will accumulate the necessary experience. At the same time, this is also considered the first test for the coaching staff to have specific assessments and screen the best squad.
Because the Vietnamese and U22 Vietnam teams focused on the same two and competed at the same time, Mr. Kim Sang-sik chose assistant Dinh Hong Vinh to take on the role of head coach to lead the youth team to participate in the CFA Team China tournament.
In September last year, U22 Vietnam under the leadership of Mr. Dinh Hong Vinh won 3rd place in the CFA Team China 2024. Therefore, it is not too difficult for this assistant to grasp the reality as well as implement the training and direction plan on the field according to the general plan of coach Kim Sang-sik.
In addition to the CFA Team China tournament, U22 Vietnam has no other international friendly competition plans from now until the end of the year.
