In the Draft Decree to replace Decree 152/2018/ND-CP, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the sports industry have proposed a treatment policy for medical staff serving sports teams.
This is the first time that the medical and technical team has been specifically mentioned in a decree on regimes and policies for high-performance sports.
Accordingly, in Section a, Clause 5 of the Draft, doctors who do not receive salaries from the state budget will be paid at the same level as national team coaches at the corresponding level. Similarly, medical technicians will also receive salaries equivalent to the corresponding salary for the team's athletes.
Meanwhile, health workers who are receiving salaries from the state budget will receive the full salary they are receiving (including salaries and salary allowances, if any) paid by the management agency; and will receive compensation for the difference in case the salary they are receiving is calculated on average according to the number of normal working days in the month lower than the salary level prescribed in Point a of this Clause.
Previously, this force was still facing many difficulties in terms of treatment, while the work was often under high pressure, especially during the training and competition period of the teams.
This proposal not only aims to improve income but also is a clearer recognition for individuals who are directly contributing to the achievements of Vietnamese sports, from coaches, athletes and medical staff.
