Hanoi I, HCMC in the same group at the National Cup women's football tournament

Hanoi I, Ho Chi Minh City and Phong Phu Ha Nam fell into the "death" group at the 2024 National Women's Football Cup.

On November 7, at the headquarters of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), the draw ceremony and schedule for the 2024 National Women's Football Cup took place.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Thanh Ha - Deputy General Secretary of VFF, Head of the Organizing Committee - said: "Established in 2019, the National Women's Football Cup has increasingly affirmed its important role in the women's football system in particular and national professional tournaments in general. In recent seasons, the National Cup has improved its expertise as teams focus on investing in quality.

This is a playground for female players to increase their chances of competing, and experts also have more conditions to monitor and discover new talents. Therefore, VFF has been making efforts to maintain and develop the Women's National Cup for over 5 years."

This year's tournament has the participation of 7 clubs, including the reigning champion Vietnam Coal and Minerals, the reigning runner-up Hanoi I, Hanoi II, Phong Phu Ha Nam, Son La, Thai Nguyen T&T and Ho Chi Minh City.

Accordingly, 7 teams are divided into 2 groups (1 group of 4 teams, 1 group of 3 teams), competing in a round-robin. The first and second teams in each group will enter the semi-finals and finals respectively; the remaining 3 teams will compete in a round-robin to rank 5th, 6th, and 7th.

According to the draw results, Group A includes Hanoi I, Phong Phu Ha Nam, Ho Chi Minh City and Son La clubs. Group B includes Vietnam Coal and Minerals, Hanoi II and Thai Nguyen T&T.

The 2024 National Women's Cup will take place from November 28 to December 13 at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center and Thanh Tri Stadium.
