The Vietnamese women's team will face Taiwan (China) in the 2nd match of the 2026 Women's Asian Cup group stage at 12:00 PM on March 7.
At the pre-match press conference, coach Mai Duc Chung shared: "This match takes place at noon, in hot weather conditions, so there will definitely be many difficulties. In the previous match, we played in the evening, while the opponent was used to playing at noon.
However, the Vietnamese women's team will try to overcome these disadvantages. With their fighting spirit, the whole team will continue to try to aim for the best results.

Assessing the opponent, the captain of the Vietnamese women's team said: "Every match, we have different tactics depending on the opponent. Taiwan (China) has lost the first match, so they will play more determinedly to find points. They may push up the attacking formation, different from the defensive style against Japan. That is also understandable.
We also have our own tactical options to suit the diễn biến of the match and our goals”.
He added: "Taiwan's (China) squad has many changes, both in terms of players and coaching staff. I learned that they also suffered losses in force when a player was injured in the match against Japan. However, this team also has some naturalized players, including players of Japanese origin, so the force has become stronger than before.
In the recent match against Japan, they actively played low and accepted defeat with a score not too large. Therefore, tomorrow's match will be very important for both teams. Although they have 3 points, the Vietnamese women's team must still be very cautious and prepare carefully for this match.
Coach Mai Duc Chung also received Group C with the participation of a very strong team, Japan, so the remaining teams must all play with high caution. The Vietnamese women's team does not calculate far but focuses on overcoming each difficulty to aim for the goal of winning the right to continue.
Meanwhile, striker Pham Hai Yen shared: "After the victory over India, the whole team is in a very good spirit. We always follow the instructions of the coaching staff, play with high tactical discipline to aim for a good result in the match against Taiwan (China)", Hai Yen shared.
On the Taiwan (China) side, coach Prasobchoke Chokemor said that the team has quickly recovered physically after the match against Japan and is in the best condition to prepare for the confrontation with Vietnam.
According to Mr. Chokemor, the players have quickly adapted to the midday playing conditions in Australia, so weather factors will not be a major obstacle in the upcoming match.
