The Vietnam futsal team had a favorable start in the 2026 Asian futsal qualifiers when they won a big 9-1 victory over Hong Kong (China).
Coach Diego Giustozzi's team showed their superiority in speed, technique and playing style. In particular, the ability to shoot and take advantage of opportunities has been significantly improved by Thinh Phat and his teammates.
However, it should be emphasized that Hong Kong (China) is not a strong team. Therefore, the match against host China in the second match will partly reflect the ability and position of Vietnamese futsal in the regional arena.
China was a big disappointment when they lost all 3 matches and finished bottom of the group at the 2024 Asian futsal tournament. Recently, they continued to lose 1-2 to Lebanon in the opening match of the 2026 qualifiers.
Therefore, a smooth victory without any physical exhaustion will be the ideal scenario for the Vietnam futsal team to have the best preparation for the important confrontation with Lebanon in the final match.
