On June 12, at the headquarters of Ho Chi Minh City Football Club (District 7), a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in implementing the Japanese Football Dream Project - Pocari sweat Project 2025 was signed between the following units: Otsuka Nutraceutical Vietnam Co., Ltd. (ONV), Ho Chi Minh City Football Club, BMG Football Academy, with the support of Otsuka Pharmaceutical Group (Japan) and Tokushima Vortis Club (J.League 2).
The project focuses on selecting, training and developing young players aged 13-14, with Vietnamese nationality and not on any other official training staff.
Players who pass the selection rounds will participate in domestic and in Japan, with professional coordination from Tokushima Vortis club and BMG Academy.
The program is implemented according to a roadmap of 3 stages: online registration until July 30, 2025, preliminary selection at District 7 Stadium (August 2-3, 2025), and the final at Ba Ria Stadium (August 9-10, 2025).
The selected players will practice according to a standardized curriculum, combining the Japanese training model with modern training methods in Vietnam. The training phase in Japan is expected to take place in March 2026.
Mr. Dinh Hong Vinh - AFC Pro certified coach and currently the Technical Director of the project, will directly coordinate professional work.
He commented: Training young players is not just a technical exercise, but it is necessary to activate tactical thinking and competitive spirit early. The international training environment is a key factor to create a stepping stone for long-term development".
The project is a continuation of the cooperation model between domestic and international professional clubs, aiming to build a systematic talent development system, from initial screening to in-depth training.
The collaboration with a representative from J.League such as Tokushima Vortis is considered a highlight in terms of expertise, creating conditions for young Vietnamese players to access a high-standard competition and training environment.
