U23 Indonesia entered the final of the Southeast Asian U23 Championship for the second consecutive time, after defeating U23 Thailand in a penalty shootout with a score of 7-6. The team from the archipelago will face U23 Vietnam in the final match taking place at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium on July 29.
Before the important match, goalkeeper Muhammad Ardiansyah shared: "We are ready for the final match. If I have to enter a penalty shootout, I am not afraid because it is a game with a probability of 50/50. However, I believe that U23 Indonesia can still defeat Vietnam and become the champion of U23 Southeast Asia in 90 minutes".
Before that, in the semi-finals, Ardiansyah played extremely solidly with many excellent saves. In particular, he also pushed Yotsakorn's decisive shot to help U23 Indonesia win a ticket to the final.
When asked about the U23 Vietnam attack, Ardiansyah was straightforward: "I still don't know who their strikers are. This is the first time I have played for the national team, so the most important thing is to focus on analyzing their playing style to have the best preparation".
On the side of U23 Vietnam, coach Kim Sang-sik and his team also have careful preparation, especially improving their finishing. If they defeat U23 Indonesia, the "Golden Star Warriors" will have won this tournament for the third consecutive time.
The final match between U23 Vietnam and U23 Indonesia takes place at 20:00 on July 28.
