According to the assignment of the VFF Referee Board, referee Tran Dinh Thinh will take the whistle to control this match. The two assistant referees are Mr. Pham Hoai Tam and Pham Ha Minh. Mr. Tran Ngoc Anh will take on the position of table referee.
Meanwhile, referee Nguyen Manh Hai is in charge of the VAR room with assistant Nguyen Minh Chau.
Thus, the match was still managed by a domestic referee team, without the presence of a foreign referee as proposed by Da Nang club.
Previously, in a document sent to Vietnam Professional Football Joint Stock Company (VPF), the representative of the Han River football team emphasized: "This is an important match, expected to attract special attention from the public, fans and the media.
Therefore, we suggest that VPF consider inviting a group of prestigious foreign referees with high professional qualifications to ensure fairness and transparency in the match management work".
Immediately after the proposal from Da Nang, Hoang Anh Gia Lai responded to VPF to express its consensus. Notably, the team from the Mountain City affirmed that it is willing to pay all costs to invite foreign referees.
However, VPF said that the assignment of referees is under the authority of the Referee Board of the Vietnam Football Federation. Depending on the level and nature of the matches, the Referees' Committee will have appropriate calculations and assignments
The match between Hoang Anh Gia Lai and Da Nang in round 24 of V.League 2024-2025 will take place at 5:00 p.m. on May 23 at Pleiku Stadium.
