Currently, the chickenpox cases have been isolated and monitored. In addition, the medical team has investigated and monitored the outbreak, provided instructions on hygiene, and sprayed disinfectants throughout the school grounds and classrooms with 0.5% Cloramin B solution; and provided advice and guidance on measures to prevent and control chickenpox at this school.
According to the report of Ben Tre City Medical Center, the first case of chickenpox appeared at Ben Tre City Secondary School on January 3, 2025. Immediately after the case was discovered, the school suspended classes for 7 days. As of January 8, 2025, the total number of cases is 16.
In the coming time, Ben Tre City Medical Center will continue to coordinate with the City Department of Education and Training to direct the monitoring of chickenpox in schools. At the same time, request local health stations to monitor the disease situation throughout the city.
