Dr Tamiruddin Danwade - an intervention cardiologist at Medicover Hospital in Kharghar, Navi Mumbai, India - said that many people confuse heart attack and chest pain, making it difficult to determine the level of urgency for timely treatment. Therefore, it is very important to distinguish between heart attack and chest pain.
Heart attack (Chest Anemia tends to be congested)
Heart pain often occurs when the heart muscle does not receive enough oxygen due to coronary artery blockage (common cause is atherosclerosis or blood clots).
Signs
painful location: pain often occurs in the middle of the chest, which can feel like a feeling of squeezing, squeezing, or tying up. The pain can spread to the left shoulder, left arm, neck, jaw, or back.
Pain: Severe pain, suffocation, cramps or sputum. It can last for a few minutes or recur several times.
Painful conditions: Heart pain often occurs when you are working hard, stressed, or even resting.
Other symptoms: Heart attack can be accompanied by symptoms such as: Difficulty breathing, cold sweating, dizziness or fainting, nausea or vomiting, fatigue, weakness...
Recoverability: Heart pain does not subside even at rest or when taking painkillers. Sometimes, the pain can persist and become more severe.
Chest pain is not caused by the heart
Chest pain can be caused by many different reasons, not always related to the heart. Some common causes of breast pain include problems with muscles, bones, stomach, lungs, or anxiety.
Signs
Painful location: The pain can be on one side of the chest or only in a specific location, not necessarily the mid- chest area.
Pain: The pain can be a swollen, burning or a feeling of tension. The pain can feel like a needle or feel like a muscle wound.
Painful conditions: The pain can be related to certain activities such as coughing, sneezing, physical agitation, or physical stress (for example, lifting heavy objects or overworking).
Other symptoms: Pain when coughing or sneezing, pain when moving or changing posture, discomfort in the stomach or heartburn (in cases related to gastroesophageal reflux), feelings of anxiety or tension...
Rehabilitation: Chest pain can be reduced with posture changes, rest, or use painkillers (if pain is due to muscle or arthritis).
Note
Heart attack: is an emergency condition, which can be life-threatening and requires immediate medical treatment.
Chest pain: not because the heart is usually less dangerous but still needs to be checked to determine the exact cause.
