Mr. Mai Le Loi - Chairman of the Trade Union of Vietnam National Shipping Lines said that the Trade Union of Vietnam National Shipping Lines always proactively advises Party committees and professional departments to organize research, thoroughly grasp, and strictly implement the Party's directives and resolutions on the working class, the Vietnam Trade Union organization and the maritime industry, focusing on Resolution No. 02-NQ/TW of the Politburo on "Innovating the organization and operation of the Vietnam Trade Union in the new situation".
In which, the Trade Union of Vietnam National Shipping Lines has focused on participating in building and perfecting policies and laws to ensure the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of workers (NLĐ); developing diverse and effective activities to care for the material and spiritual life of union members and workers.
Activities to participate in building policies and laws are carried out seriously and widely from the Corporation to the grassroots level.
The Corporation's Trade Union has proactively proposed to the Government, ministries, branches and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor to amend and supplement many inadequate contents directly related to specific industry policies and human resources of officers and crew members in the process of drafting draft laws.
Implementing the Democracy Regulation at the grassroots level and dialogue, every year, the Corporation and the Corporation's Trade Union have issued a joint plan to organize employee conferences. The results of the entire system have exceeded the target assigned by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (the assigned target is at least 48 units to implement).
Practical care models for union members and workers are organized regularly such as Tet Sum vay, Trade Union Home, Trade Union Meal, Trade Union Tet Market, Special care for officers and crew members... The total budget for activities to care for benefits at the General Corporation's Trade Union level in the period 2021 - 2025 reached nearly 16 billion VND.
Social security work and responsibility to the community are also concerned and implemented by the Trade Union levels of the Corporation. The total amount of money the Corporation and the Corporation's Trade Union spent on social charity work reached more than 25 billion VND.
In 2025 alone, nearly 2.4 billion VND has been donated to support the Cuban people; nearly 2.7 billion VND to support people affected by storms and floods. Emergency support of 12 billion VND through the Fatherland Front to support 4 South Central Coast and Central Highlands provinces affected by natural disasters; supporting other localities with more than 3 billion VND...
