Strive for 100% of grassroots trade unions to apply digital transformation in operations

One of the targets for the 2025-2030 term of the Trade Union of Vietnam National Shipping Lines is that 100% of grassroots trade unions apply digital transformation in trade union activities.

Innovating patriotic emulation movements

From the specific characteristics of the industry, the Trade Union of Vietnam National Shipping Lines organized and implemented many emulation movements suitable for each block. Port block enterprises implemented the emulation movement "Releasing ships quickly with productivity, quality, efficiency, and safety" with the goal of doing well in customer care, improving loading and unloading processes, and raising the sense of responsibility of workers; the movement to build "Occupational Safety Teams" with scoring methods shifting from qualitative to quantitative with specific and transparent criteria.

In the movement to promote initiatives, technical improvements, practice thrift, and combat wastefulness, there have been many initiatives and solutions for manufacturing, repairing, and improving specialized equipment and tools, strongly applying digital transformation in port exploitation and management, contributing to unleashing labor, improving working conditions, and building green ports with a value of billions of VND for businesses.

The sea transport sector continues to maintain the emulation movements "Maintain ships clean, beautiful, safe, shorten trip times, increase business ship days", "Good people, good ships, good management for the development of the company"..., proactively register to carry out preservation, maintenance and self-repair, strengthen solutions and initiatives in fuel consumption norm management, and seek new business directions.

The service block and the joint venture block organize the launch of emulation movements with many rich forms, associated with major holidays of the year such as: the emulation movement "Learning to improve qualifications", "Reputation, quality", doing well in marketing and customer care, expanding market share, creating many jobs, improving productivity, quality, competitiveness, striving to complete the business's production and business plan...

Starting from the reality of the industry, the work usually focuses on the last months of the year, the Corporation's Trade Union always proactively coordinates with the Corporation's leaders to launch the peak emulation period in the fourth quarter with specific contents and goals, with timely and appropriate forms of commendation to call on and encourage employees to unite, be determined to overcome difficulties, be disciplined, professional, and strive to complete production and business tasks in the fourth quarter and the whole year.

Trade unions at all levels actively propagate and mobilize employees to practice Kaizen in order to improve the productivity, quality, and efficiency of each individual's work and the competitiveness of enterprises. At many grassroots trade unions, Kaizen groups/groups have been established, periodically organizing experience sharing sessions; promptly rewarding typical individuals and collectives monthly, quarterly, and annually, thereby forming the habit of practicing Kaizen (Kaizen in Japanese means continuous improvement) in daily work.

Strong application of digital transformation is a breakthrough

In addition to the target of striving for 100% of grassroots trade unions to apply digital transformation in trade union activities, the Trade Union of Vietnam National Shipping Lines also strives to develop at least 3,000 new union members, develop an actual increase of 1,000 trade union members, establish 5 grassroots trade unions; strive for at least 5,000 initiatives and Kaizens of union members and workers to be applied in production, business and work activities; 100% of trade union officials at all levels are trained and foster in theory, professional skills, and trade union work skills; by the end of the term, strive for 88% of enterprises with trade union organizations to sign collective labor agreements, organize employee conferences, and periodic dialogues.

The Trade Union of Vietnam National Shipping Lines has developed an Action Program to implement the Resolution of the 7th Congress of the Trade Union of Vietnam National Shipping Lines, term 2025-2030. Accordingly, one of the goals and requirements of the Action Program is to clearly identify key issues, specific tasks associated with the responsibilities of the Trade Union levels of the Corporation; at the same time, promote the revolutionary action movement, enthusiastic emulation among officials, union members, and employees, effectively implement the rights and responsibilities of the Trade Union organization, determined to strive to successfully implement the Resolution of the Congress, contributing to building a team of maritime workers with core values "Discipline - Dedication - Creativity - Unity - Integrity", building Vietnam National Shipping Lines to 2030 to hold the number 1 position in the Vietnamese maritime industry.

The key programs for implementing the Congress Resolution for the period 2026-2030 identified by the Corporation's Trade Union are: improving the quality of dialogue and collective bargaining work; promoting the emulation movement for innovation and creativity, practicing Kaizen among union members and employees; improving the effectiveness of caring for the interests of union members and employees; focusing on developing union members and establishing grassroots trade unions; Trade unions participating in promoting the implementation of corporate culture; improving the quality of trade union officials at all levels; Trade unions participating in training and improving professional qualifications and skills for union members and employees; promoting digital transformation in trade union levels.

It is noteworthy that the solutions proposed are all focused on grassroots levels. In which, focus on better performing the task of representing and protecting the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of union members and workers. Improve the effectiveness of propaganda and mobilization work; build a team of workers, civil servants, and laborers in the period of accelerating digital transformation. Develop union members, build strong Trade Union organizations, participate in building a strong Party and political system. Innovate patriotic emulation movements...
