On December 22, the Department of Home Affairs of Dak Lak province reported on the results of work in 2024 and the direction and tasks for 2025, including recommendations on supplementing human resources for the education sector.
Dak Lak is a large province with many remote communes and a large number of ethnic minority students. The whole province currently has nearly half a million students from kindergarten to high school.
Although Dak Lak is in dire need of additional human resources to effectively implement teaching and learning, it is still facing a serious shortage of thousands of teachers. In addition, the implementation of streamlining the payroll according to the Central Resolution has made this situation even more serious.
The Department of Home Affairs of Dak Lak province has proposed solutions to ensure human resources for public educational institutions. The solutions both implement the principle of “where there are students, there must be teachers” and comply with the staff streamlining roadmap as prescribed by the Politburo.
The Department of Home Affairs of Dak Lak province proposed that the Ministry of Home Affairs add 2,890 personnel for the 2024-2025 school year, including 1,273 teachers under the additional quota for the 2022-2026 period according to the regulations of the Politburo.
In case it is not possible to supplement, the Department proposes to maintain the number of employees assigned in 2024 to ensure minimum personnel for public service units in the province.
In addition, the Department also recommended not to reduce 10% of the staff in the education sector. The streamlining of staff should be divided by region and area, instead of applying equalization, in order to properly implement the policy and ensure the teacher/class ratio according to regulations.
