Tteokbokki is a famous snack in Korean cuisine with a strong rice cake flavor combined with mild spicy sauce. Accordingly, tteokbokki cheese has become a familiar dish for every family.
With a few simple ingredients, housewives can quickly prepare delicious tteokbokki cheese to treat the family in daily meals.
To make tteokbokki cheese, housewives need to prepare 200gr of tteokbokki rice cake; 100gr of mozzarella cheese; 2 tablespoons gochujang sauce (Korean chili sauce); 1 tablespoon sugar; 1/2 tablespoon emulsion oil; 1 little minced garlic; 1/2 onion and 1/2 cup of filtered water.
First, soak the rice cake in cold water for about 20 minutes before putting it in the pot to boil for 2 - 3 minutes to reach the soft consistency. Once boiled, remove the rice cake and drain.
Next, add gochujang sauce, sugar, oil and minced garlic to the pan, add a little water and bring the mixture to a small temperature. When the mixture begins to boil, add the rice cake and stir well to absorb the spices.
Once the rice cake has absorbed the spices, continue to boil mozzarella until melted, mix well into the rice cake to make the basic full-fledged tteokbokbokki cheese.
Tteokbokki cheese should be enjoyed while it is still hot to feel the mild spicy flavor of the sauce and the richness of the cheese.
