Becoming disabled at the most beautiful age when suffering from brittle bone disease, Hoang Thi Diu (born in 1989, Thai Binh province) has constantly strived to improve her life. The resilient 8X girl also helps children in the village to sow the seeds of knowledge, spreading the love of reading to local children.
Born into a large family in difficult circumstances, from a young age, Hoang Thi Diu was aware of her responsibility and made constant efforts to help her family.
However, when she turned 18 – the age of youth full of ambition, the doctor diagnosed her with the rare Kallman syndrome, which caused Hoang Thi Diu to lose her ability to be a mother. Despite the deep sadness, the young girl did not give up hope, still worked hard to make a living for herself and maintained an optimistic spirit.
The storms of life did not stop for the 8X girl when a major incident occurred at the age of 27, causing Hoang Thi Diu's legs to no longer be able to walk. Brittle bone disease struck, making it difficult for her to walk and forcing her to use a wheelchair.
Since losing her ability to walk, Hoang Thi Dieu has also encountered many difficulties in walking and personal activities, all of which she has had to depend on the support of her relatives.
Once again, Hoang Thi Diu overcame adversity with resilience, compassion and determination to live a meaningful life. She began to interact with technology, learned through online channels and gradually fell in love with the teaching profession.
“I feel very happy when I teach children, I feel useful and motivated to constantly improve and renew myself. That has motivated me to open free classes at home, mainly for students who are just starting first grade and need a lot of guidance and correction,” Hoang Thi Diu confided.
The program also featured Nghiem Thanh Mai, a niece who has accompanied Hoang Thi Diu from the hospital to daily life. Together, they built a special classroom and created a library with the hope of "sowing green seeds" to help children in poor villages have faith and motivation to overcome difficult circumstances.
In the future, Hoang Thi Diu hopes to continue helping children learn in her "Sowing Seeds" class and spread the love of books to more children.
Hoang Thi Diu’s story is a living testament to the spirit of overcoming difficulties and the belief in the value of giving. Harsh events did not make her falter, but on the contrary, helped Hoang Thi Diu find the meaning of life through bringing joy and knowledge to children.
The interesting story about the “Sowing Seeds” class of Hoang Thi Diu will be told again in the program “Love Station” at 10:00 on November 16, 2014 on VTV1 channel.
