Warm drinks
The liver and kidneys are the two organs responsible for filtering toxins and metabolizing fat. However, low temperatures cause blood vessels to constrict, reducing the effectiveness of blood filtration.
According to the Journal of Hepatology Research, drinking warm water rich in polyphenols and vitamin C helps increase the activity of the enzyme glutathione peroxidase, a key antioxidant in the liver detoxification process.
A study by Seoul National University said: people who maintain drinking 400 ml of warm ginger tea or warm lemon honey water every morning have an average reduction of ALT liver enzymes of 10-15% after 6 weeks, while the function of exfoliating the kidneys (eGFR) increases slightly by 34%.
This proves the role of warm drinks in "activating" the body's natural filtering system.
Roasted brown rice tea
Roasted brown rice tea is a source of B vitamins, magnesium and selenium - minerals necessary for liver and kidney function.
According to the Journal of Functional Foods, brown rice extract has the ability to reduce oxidative stress in liver cells thanks to natural phenolic compounds.
One experiment showed that people who drank 500 ml of warm brown rice water per day for 8 weeks had a 14% reduction in uric acid and improved the ure blood index (BUN), a sign that the kidneys functioned more effectively.
This drink also helps stabilize blood sugar and limit the formation of urate stones in cold weather.
Warm Arms
Artichoke is considered one of the best herbs for liver and kidneys. According to the European Journal of Nutrition, cynarin extract in artichokes stimulates bile secretion, reduces fat accumulation in the liver and accelerates the removal of toxins.
When consumed warm, the bioactive substances in artichokes are absorbed faster, helping to reduce the feeling of fullness, purify the body and improve blood filtration function.
To optimize the effectiveness of liver and kidney detoxification in the cold season, you should:
- Drink 200-300 ml of warm water (40-60°C) in the morning after waking up to activate the liver and kidneys.
- Maintain 1-2 cups of lemon ginger tea or warm artichokes per day, especially after a 30-minute meal.
- Avoid drinking cold water, as it can constrict blood vessels and slow down the filtering of toxins.
- You can add a slice of ginger or a few drops of fresh lemon to increase the anti-inflammatory and anti-liver fat loss effects.
