On the morning of October 18, the opening ceremony of the "Vietnam Workers and Civil Servants Football Tournament 2024" qualifying round of region 1 took place at the stadium of Bac Ninh University of Physical Education and Sports.
Mr. Ngo Duy Hieu - Vice President of Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Head of Steering Committee of Vietnam Workers and Civil Servants Football Tournament 2024 - attended.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Ngo Duy Hieu affirmed that the 2024 Vietnam Workers' and Civil Servants' Football Tournament was jointly organized by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and Tuoi Tre Newspaper to improve the spiritual life and health of union members and workers. The tournament contributes to increasing labor productivity and strengthening class solidarity.
Mr. Ngo Duy Hieu believes that the tournament will be a great success, contributing to the overall development when the country is entering a new stage, the era of national growth.
In the Regional Qualifying Round 1, the teams will compete for 3 consecutive days from October 18-20, at the stadium of Bac Ninh University of Physical Education and Sports, gathering 15 teams including: Bac Ninh Trade Union, Bac Giang Trade Union, Hanoi Trade Union 1, Hanoi Trade Union 2, Hai Phong Trade Union, Quang Ninh Trade Union, Hai Duong Trade Union, Hung Yen Trade Union, Thai Binh Trade Union, Vietnam Civil Servants Trade Union, Vietnam Airlines Trade Union, National Defense Workers, Construction Trade Union, Thanh Hoa Trade Union, Banking Trade Union.
The 15 teams will be divided into 4 groups: Groups A, B, C and D, competing in a round robin to determine rankings. The first and second-placed teams in the 4 groups will compete in the quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals. The 4 teams that qualify for the semi-finals will qualify for the national finals, which will take place in early November in Hanoi.
