Attending the program were Ms. Thai Thu Xuong - Standing Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour; Ms. Ho Thi Cam Dao - Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee (VFF) of Can Tho City; leaders of the City People's Committee, leaders of the City Confederation of Labour, along with representatives of departments, branches, unions, localities, units, businesses and a large number of union members and workers (UM, W).
Ms. Le Thi Suong Mai - Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour, City Party Committee Member, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Can Tho City, Chairwoman of the Can Tho City Labor Federation - said that the Tet Sum vay - Spring of Gratitude to the Party program is an activity imbued with humanistic meaning, showing the deep concern of the Party, State, Trade Union organization and the whole society for union members and workers.
This Tet holiday, the whole city presented more than 20,000 gifts to union members and workers, with a total value of nearly 19 billion VND.
The City Labor Federation also organized a series of practical care activities such as the Tet cake cooking contest; Tet rice tray display contest; Photo contest "Workers' Smiles - Spring Gratitude to the Party"; Giving free train and bus tickets to workers returning to their hometowns for Tet... and many welfare programs to support union members.
Speaking at the program, Ms. Ho Thi Cam Dao - Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Can Tho City - emphasized that the city always determines that caring for and protecting the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of workers is not only the responsibility of the Trade Union organization, but a common task of the entire political system, of all levels of government and of the business community.
In which, the Trade Union organization plays a core role, being a reliable bridge between the Party, State and workers and laborers; promptly grasping thoughts, aspirations, and legitimate recommendations to advise and propose appropriate and effective solutions.
Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Can Tho City proposed that trade union levels in the city continue to innovate the content and methods of operation in a practical and effective direction, close to the grassroots level, taking union members and workers as the center; proactively advise Party committees, closely coordinate with the government and businesses in caring for life, improving welfare, and improving working conditions; and at the same time, promote the role of supervision, representation, and protection of the legitimate and lawful rights of workers.
At the program, the Organizing Committee presented 1 motorbike to workers of the Urban Environment Enterprise - Can Tho Urban Joint Stock Company and 500 gifts to union members and workers in difficult circumstances. Each gift included 500,000 VND in cash and a gift worth 300,000 VND. In particular, the City Labor Federation officially opened the 2026 Trade Union Tet Market with many discount booths for union members and workers.
Also this morning, a delegation from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour came and presented gifts to 100 union members and workers in difficult circumstances in Thoi An Dong ward. Each gift included 1 million VND in cash and a gift worth 300,000 VND.
