In the first days of January 2026, at many businesses in Vinh Long province, workers began to access the 2026 Spring Trade Union Tet Market online, instead of centralized markets as before.
At Lefaso Tra Vinh Industrial Investment and Production Joint Stock Company (Tra Cu commune, Vinh Long province), workers take advantage of break time to choose cooking oil, fish sauce and products to serve family activities during Tet.
Ms. Le Thi Van, a worker at the company, said that with an e-voucher worth 500,000 VND, she prioritizes buying essential items. According to Ms. Van, online shopping helps save time, travel costs and especially no transportation costs. Being able to choose suitable products helps workers use the Trade Union's support effectively, avoiding waste compared to the previous fixed Tet gift receiving method.
At Ty Bach Co., Ltd., Binh Minh Industrial Park, many workers expressed satisfaction when they were able to proactively choose to buy essential goods to serve family activities during Tet.
Mr. Tran Minh Hoang, a worker in the production department, said that his family still has many difficulties, and his income mainly depends on workers' salaries. This is the third consecutive year he has been included by the Trade Union in the list of Tet support through online shopping. According to Mr. Hoang, prioritizing the purchase of essential goods helps his family use the support part effectively, reducing spending pressure in the days leading up to Tet.
Online Tet market expands union member welfare
According to Mr. Nguyen Phuc Linh - Chairman of Vinh Long Provincial Labor Federation, the 2026 Spring Trade Union Tet Market is a large-scale program implemented by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor with a total of 200,000 support parts nationwide. Vinh Long province alone is allocated 6,150 parts, including 6,000 union members and 150 trade union officials. Each part is an electronic shopping voucher worth 500,000 VND for online shopping.
Mr. Linh said that the program focuses on supporting union members in difficult circumstances, low incomes or with many contributions to production labor, ensuring proper care for the right people.
Besides the meaning of material support, organizing the Trade Union Tet Market in online form also helps reduce organizational costs, limit intermediaries, and ensure publicity and transparency. The Provincial Labor Federation has directed grassroots trade unions to review lists and provide technical support to workers in the process of registering accounts, using e-vouchers and receiving goods.
