According to the Statistics Office, the number of unemployed people of working age in the third quarter of 2025 was 696,500 people, down 102,700 people compared to the previous quarter and down 166,900 people compared to the same period last year.
The rate of unemployment among working-age people in the third quarter of 2025 was 1.50%, down 0.23 percentage points compared to the previous quarter and down 0.37 percentage points compared to the same period last year. Of which, urban areas are 1.26%; rural areas are 1.66%.
In the first 9 months of 2025, the number of unemployed people of working age was 764,200 people, down 150,600 people compared to the same period last year. The rate of unemployment among working-age people was 1.65%, down 0.34 percentage points over the same period last year; of which the rate of unemployment in urban areas was 1.24%, down 0.04 percentage points; the rate of unemployment in rural areas was 1.92%, down 0.54 percentage points.
Regarding the unemployment rate among working-age people in the third quarter of 2025, it was 2.22%, down 0.02 percentage points compared to the previous quarter and down 0.01 percentage points compared to the same period last year, of which the urban area was 2.73%; the rural area was 1.86%.
The unemployment rate among working-age people in the first 9 months of 2025 was 2.22%, down 0.04 percentage points over the same period last year, of which urban areas were 2.53%; rural areas were 2.00%.
The unemployment rate for young people (from 15-24 years old) in the third quarter of 2025 was 9.03%, up 0.84 percentage points compared to the previous quarter and up 1.30 percentage points compared to the same period last year. The unemployment rate of young people in urban areas is 12.42%; in rural areas is 6.86%.
The unemployment rate for young people (from 15-24 years old) in the first nine months of 2025 is 8.38%, an increase of 0.47 percentage points over the same period last year. Of which, the unemployment rate of young people in urban areas is 11.24%, up 1.68 percentage points; in rural areas is 6.75%, down 0.30 percentage points.
